October - 2004

Hi all,

I can’t believe it is almost Halloween so I feel compelled to sit down and write this month’s newsletter. With all your wonderful comments after last month’s newsletter, I don’t want to let anyone down. You have inspired and encouraged me to stay on top of things and get a newsletter out to you every month. Looks like I’m going to barely make it.

This Month's Issue Includes:

1. He’s Just Not That Into You
2. What the Bleep Do We Know
3. Shall We Dance
4. I need ten readers.
5. 500 Lovemaking Tips

1. HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU

Did you see the Oprah show that featured the book by the above title? It was fabulous. Written by writers for Sex and The City. I was so impressed with what the authors had written that I saved it on my TiVo and had my circle of six girlfriends over for a potluck so we could watch it together. I’ve danced around this concept in my book and on my website, tried to explain why men do the dating thing the way they do, and did a decent job of getting the message across. But this is the best phrase to sum it all up: He’s just not that into you. It is so freeing. It allows us to stop all the angst over the wondering. I highly recommend the book. And, if you are one of those who really can’t let it go even though it was clear nothing is going to happen with a guy, you might even want to purchase a video of that particular Oprah show. It’s a concept we women really need to get clear on and be reminded of regularly. He’s just not that in to you. So simple. Buy it by clicking here.

2. WHAT THE #%&@ DO WE KNOW

This movie, called What the Bleep, is so good I’ve seen it three times and I want to see it several times more. I want to buy the DVD when it comes out, and I want to read several of the books of the people in the movie. It’s a documentary but not at all dry. It explains, among other things, the power of our thoughts. I pray every night (and whenever the mood strikes me) and mostly, I list out what I’m thankful for. I think it is one reason I’m always so happy. Our attitude comes from our thoughts and what we focus on. You have lots more choices that you think. This movie makes sense of so much. I highly recommend it to anyone who is hungry to learn and grow.

3. SHALL WE DANCE

I seem to be doing nothing but recommending stuff in this month’s newsletter. Here’s one more. I saw Shall We Dance for the second time last night and loved it. I’m sure I’ll see it again with a girlfriend or two. I took my mother this last time because she’s a dancer and an incurable romantic. What I like about this movie (besides the dancing and Richard Gere) is that it is a wholesome story that tells what happens to so many men when they reach that point in life when they ask, “Is this all there is?” It’s a really difficult time for them (the highest suicide rate) and they feel so alone as they go through it. It’s a lovely movie. The way he treats his wife makes your heart melt and Susan Sarandon’s speech explaining marriage is terrific. Maybe it’s not possible to have that kind of marriage but it sure is worth trying to achieve it. Even the men in the audience liked it.

4. I NEED TEN READERS

I’m close to finishing my next book. It’s called “A Bazillion Ways To Say ‘I love you.’” There will be a men’s and women’s version. What I need is some readers who will give me honest feedback. There won’t be any charge for the readers and when the final version is ready to launch onto the Internet, I’ll send you a new copy of that. If you’re interested, be one of the first ten to write to me. But please, be sure you have the time. I want feedback right away. As soon as it is ready (in a week or two) I’ll send it to you as an attachment. It will be available only as an ebook. .

5. 500 LOVEMAKING TIPS

My friend, Michael Webb, The RoMANtic, has an ebook out that you might find quite valuable. He’s so creative I know you’ll really like his ideas. You can find out more and order by clicking here.

I hope you have a fun Halloween and that you take time to be playful. Life is worth living, so get out there and live.
