2. Dating - Be Positive
Of course, this is universal advice but when you're dating and looking for his long-term commitment, it's really important that you develop the habit of being a positive person. 3. Happiness - You Can Feel It In Your Body
I was listening to Good Morning America last week and when a doctor came on discussing how Botox is helping depression patients, I ran to the TV. Not because I would ever use Botox, but I knew immediately the implications of what he was going to discuss.
He went on to explain that in his work with several patients who suffered with depression, their symptons diminished significantly (all but one had their depression disappear) and the affect lasted for approximately 4 months. He discussed the chemical reaction that occurs in the body when we smile and when we frown. Basically, when they couldn't frown, the bad chemical affect cound not be set in motion.
For years, in my workshops, I have had my participants do a process that allows them to notice that emotions are felt in the body, and that they can be controlled.

CLASS PROJECT GONE WRONG
An elementary school class started a class project to make planters to take home to their parents.
They wanted to have a plant in it that was easy to take care of, so they decided to use cactus plants. The students were given green-ware pottery planters in the shape of clowns which they painted with glaze. The clown planters were professionally fired at a class outing so they could see the process. It was great fun! They planted cactus seeds in the finished planters and they grew nicely, but unfortunately, the children were not allowed to take them home.
The cactus plants were removed and small ivy replaced them and the children were then allowed to take them home instead. The teacher said cactus seemed like a good idea at the time!
