AliveWithLove.com Home Only subscribers to the newsletter have access to this page. February - 2003 Hi all, Kara here, In this issue:
1. Two new books just in time for Valentine’s Day!
1. TWO NEW BOOKS! I just got an announcement from Michael Webb about his new e-book, A Better Way To Date. You may have read one of his other 5 books. They’re all listed on my home page. He is considered the nation’s most romantic man and just did a taping of Oprah Winfrey’s show. I have to admit I’m envious but very happy for him. Watch for him and if I know when he’s going to be on, I’ll post the date in the next newsletter. I suspect it might be for a Valentine’s Day show. You can find out about his new book here. Everything he does is great so I’m sure this one is also. Because Valentine’s Day is just around the corner you can get some great ideas from Michael’s romance column. And several of Michael’s books are filled with more fun ideas. Here’s a new book that was sent to me by the author. It’s called Ready For Romance, Hot Lips, Great Escapes & 89 More Ways To Keep Love Alive. And it’s just in time for Valentine’s Day. You can read about it at Amazon.com or you read a short description here. 2. 5 THINGS A WOMAN CAN DO TO IMPROVE HER RELATIONSHIP -- RIGHT NOW! These are five things that you already know to do, things you instinctively knew to do when he was falling in love with you, but maybe, lately, you’ve gotten out of the habit. You can put a little pizzazz into your relationship if you give them a try...and then make them a habit. I’ve posted it here. “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” -- Helen Keller 3. A LOOK AT MY MOTIVATION Last weekend a special girlfriend invited me to drive to Santa Barbara to hear Jacob Glass speak. He uses A Course In Miracles as the foundation of what he discusses but most of what he says is personal. He’s one of the funniest people and I always laugh til I cry. One of those all-time great experiences. If you don’t know about A Course In Miracles it’s basically about how everything we experience is either fear or love. He said we are driven by three primary motivations: The desire for love, the desire for appreciation, or the desire for approval. And he asked the question: What’s behind what you do? Is it one of those three? That question caused me to look at why I spend most of my time on my web site activities. Unless you purchase a copy of my book or order one of my affiliate products, I don’t make any money. So what is it about then? I admit that it is a little bit about all three, but mostly, I was happy to realize, it’s about my purpose in life. Several years ago I took a workshop to discover my purpose in life. What I came up with was: My purpose in life is to be joyful and through the expression of that joy, make a difference. What motivates me to spend so many hours every day on my writing, on email, on this newsletter, is an effort to share what I’ve learned about how to be joyful. Most of my personal path to greater levels of happiness have come via great heartache. Thanks to my ex-husband and what he put me through, I am happier than I ever dreamed possible. So it thrills me beyond belief that thousands of you have requested to receive my newsletter. I accept that as an affirmation that my purpose is being achieved, that what I am trying to share on my web site and in my book is touching you. I realize that you get a lot of email and the fact that you want to receive my newsletter makes my heart swell with happiness. Thank you. (By the way, Jacob Glass’ website is beautiful and his diary is great. 3. WHAT’S YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE? Have you ever asked the big question: What’s my purpose in life? I feel like it is a really important question to ask because if you don’t know, how can you make choices that will serve your best and highest needs and desires? If you would like to know the answer to this question, there is a process whereby you can learn something about yourself that could enhance the rest of your life. Read it here.
