Kara's Journal

"About Kara" Menu

Kara's JournalLife is about becoming, ever evolving into the truest version of what's possible. My purpose is to become the best and brightest star imaginable so I may illuminate the path for others that they might experience pure bliss in all that they do and hope to be. The entelechy of an acorn is to be a great oak tree. What is the entelechy of you... and of me.

Kara's JournalAs my first entry, I thought it would be good to explain what I'm attempting here. You may have already figured out, because I've created this web site, that I want to make a difference in people's lives. Especially women. For a long time I thought I wanted to be a star. Not famous but maybe someone who was well-known enough that once in a while someone would come up to me and thank me for something I'd written or said. As long as I can remember, I've wanted to do something big.

A Successful Failure
On many occasions, I've tried to talk about my aspirations with my mother and that I feel like I've failed. She always wants to list my accomplishments, which have been many. A lot of people think I've been very successful. But not me, until I listened to a tape by Alec Mackenzie.

Kara's JournalThe subject was managing goals and he said something that really helped me. He talked about the concept of a successful failure. That means someone who appears to be successful to others but has fallen short of what she knows she can, or should have accomplished. My mother finally understood. She said, "Oh, you want to be a success story."

Kara's JournalOn this page I'm going to share my experiences, insights, ideas and anything else that seems appropriate. I will not tell personal stuff about my family or friends but maybe my own process will help someone along the way. Let me know if it does.

The photos are of Avery, my grandson and me on a special outing. He calls me Ibu.
